Caregiver Testimonials

Before we found Shari, my son faced significant challenges with the literacy training provided by his public school. The resources offered were not aligning with his needs, leaving us feeling helpless and concerned about his academic future. In our search for a solution, a trusted friend highly recommended Shari, and, feeling hopeful, we decided to reach out.

In the five months since my son began working with Shari, the transformation in his reading and writing abilities has been nothing short of remarkable. His confidence in reading has soared, and his reading fluency has improved dramatically. We’re continually impressed by his ability to independently pronounce words that once seemed out of reach. Moreover, his writing has become more legible, and his spelling continues to improve day by day.

We are profoundly grateful for the dedication and expertise Shari has provided. It’s a privilege to see our son benefit from such personalized and effective tutoring—a service we believe EVERY child should have access to. Shari has not only helped our son overcome his challenges but has also ignited a passion for learning that will undoubtedly serve him well throughout his life. Thank you, Shari, for making such a significant difference in our son’s educational journey.

One of the best educational decisions we have ever made for our son is tutoring with Shari and using the EBLI method. After years of struggling with reading and writing, we have been completely amazed with his progress in such a short time. In the 14 sessions, so far with Shari, he has worked on all aspects of reading, spelling and writing. We are particularly impressed how he has improved more in many areas in the last two months than the past several years combined. EBLI has been a refreshingly efficient, logical and systematic approach to literacy. Shari has such a wonderful combination of kindness and understanding – she is able to connect extremely well with our son and set high yet attainable expectations. He finds tutoring with Shari to be fun, engaging, and rewarding. As parents, we have found Shari to be a trusted mentor and guide in our son’s educational journey. We have been incredibly thankful to have Shari be our son’s tutor and appreciate her wisdom, experience, and insight in using the EBLI method.

Shari has been a godsend. My daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia at age 8 and like many parents we felt lost. The psychologist who performed the testing introduced us to Shari. We were trying different systems at home with mild success. In just 12 weeks using the EBLI method with Shari, Hannah has had an amazing turnaround. She is now enjoying reading, catching up to her peers, and reading signs in the national parks and around town. We cannot thank you enough.

Shari is an absolute gem! My daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia at 15. The EBLI curriculum, combined with Shari’s effective teaching style, have been a game changer for her. It’s a gift to see my daughter reading (even enjoying!) a book without crying.

I struggled with reading and spelling for years. After working with Shari and following the EBLI curriculum for 4 months, I feel confident in my reading and spelling, and my PSAT score went up 80 points!

– Adele, age 15

Since my daughter started, she has actually come home, wanting to do her homework, she doesn’t put it off, I can see that her reading has improved so much more, it’s more fluent.

ColoREADo is really great, my daughter went from struggling to read 4 – 5 letter words to reading the movie credits at the end of the movie!

I think that the ColoREADo program is amazing, in the time since my daughter has started she did nothing but grow, they have so many different opportunities to help your child with their reading, their spelling, and the understanding. I think the comprehending is the biggest part for me.
