Deb Fenton
Deb Fenton is a certified speech-language pathologist who recognized early in her 30-year career the critical connection between literacy and language. For over 14 years, she owned and operated a multidisciplinary pediatric therapy clinic in the Denver area, where the cornerstone service was the assessment and treatment of language-based learning disabilities, including dyslexia. Deb now works as a full-time literacy specialist at a private school in Denver, supporting students in the primary grades.
Deb has advanced training in the Orton-Gillingham approach and, in 2024, became trained in EBLI (Evidence-Based Literacy Instruction) to offer an alternative, research-based pathway for literacy instruction. This past year, she observed a significant increase in both academic performance and confidence among her 4th and 5th grade students after implementing EBLI to support their reading, writing, and spelling.
Deb is proud to serve on the ColoREADo board and support its mission to revolutionize the way students are taught to read. She believes in the power of literacy to transform lives, recognizing that reading proficiency is essential for lifelong access to knowledge, career growth, and financial stability.
